so you can live well in every season

ABOUT EMILY

While other kids were playing on the swings, I played hide and seek in the casket showroom at my family’s funeral home. Born into a long line of morticians and raised on honest Midwest grit, my upbringing in Detroit gave me a crash course in resilience, systemic injustice, and the extraordinary power of community care. Being diagnosed with lupus as a teen only deepened these lessons, teaching me firsthand about the gaps in our healthcare system, the importance of self-advocacy, and the fragile nature of being human. These core experiences still drive the way I approach my work today, with fearless wonder and a love for exploring what most people shy away from.

I only know one way to connect: deeply. I am a licensed social worker with 10+ years of experience in hospice and palliative care, and I have spent countless hours at bedsides. To put it plainly, companioning others through life’s toughest transitions is my superpower.

I was lucky to find this work early in life, and it has shown me something I can’t unsee: we don’t have to wait until the end to start living more honestly. Obsessed with finding magic in the mundane, I am fueled by curiosity, human connection and a generous dose of play, even in the face of uncertainty. I can’t wait to work with you!

ABOUT WELL DOULA

While we can all agree that one day life will end, most people still delay end-of-life discussions, tiptoe around the what-ifs, and wince at the mere whisper of death. In every other aspect of life, we’re encouraged to plan ahead, assess risks, and tell the truth.

The price we pay? Missing the chance to die with no regrets.

Early end-of-life conversations aren’t morbid. They’re the ultimate act of freedom for both ourselves, and those we leave behind. That’s the real twist, but no one teaches us where to start.

That’s where Well Doula comes in. We make the unknown more knowable, without the overwhelm.

Through personalized end-of-life consultation and death education, we help you tackle paperwork, big emotions, family dynamics, and all the things the system forgot to tell you. Long before you’re in crisis.

Think of Well Doula as your bridge between what the medical world knows and what real humans need. We will help you understand what’s coming, empower you to reclaim a sense of control, and create space for life and death to coexist; because leaning into both is the real secret to living and leaving well.

Ideally with plenty of time still on your side.

how we support you

STRATEGIZE

Plan

Informed decision making is key during transition, which takes time and access to clear medical information. We help you slow down enough to ask questions, understand your options, and make use of available resources so you can move forward with more ease.

COMMUNICATE

Make it stand out

Clear communication steadies us. But when it comes to end of life, finding the words can feel impossible. We’re all human. Well Doula offers a non-judgmental space to prepare for these conversations and approach them with greater clarity and compassion.

COPE

Make it stand out

Not all grief comes in the form of death. If you’re living with illness, caring for someone who is, or navigating the many losses along the way, Well Doula offers grounded support to explore complex emotions and discover what it means to live well alongside the heartache.

PLAN

Make it stand out

It’s never too soon to plan for the unexpected. Planning ahead creates choice, peace of mind, and greater control over quality of life. We offer personalized guidance to help you prepare for worst case scenarios, so you have a say and your loved ones aren’t left guessing.

Where life and death coexist, a deeper sense of freedom begins
